Tim McGraw experienced a very memorable moment during a recent meet and greet. A video he shared on Instagram shows him meeting with a man who is not a fan of his music, but was a huge fan of Tim's late father, Tug McGraw. He presented Tim with a whole box of memorabilia from Tug's time as a Major League Baseball player. The clip shows Tim going through the box, which included a vinyl record with highlights from the 1980 World Series, Tug's rookie cards and clippings of newspaper and magazine articles that featured stories about him. Including the cover that showed the Phillies players celebrating their Word Series Championship win. In the photo, Mike Schmidt is seen jumping on Tug with the rest of the team after Tug threw the final pitch. Tim didn't meet his biological father until he was 11 years old. While his mom Betty was pregnant with him, Tug continued to pursue his dreams as a baseball star. Betty remarried someone who Tim saw as his father until he discovered his birth certificate and realized there was more to his life story. Tug had remarried and had kids of his own, which made him hesitant to form a relationship with Tim at first. When he turned 17, Tim and his father started to become closer. He has said in the past that he has no resentment toward his father for him being absent for the first part of his life. Tug passed away in 2004 at the age of 59 from brain cancer.
