Kacey Musgraves is a woman of her word and she is keeping a promise she made to The Mariachi Brothers after they were detained by ICE.
The three brothers, Antonio (18), Caleb (14), and Joshua Gámez-Cuéllar (12) will open three shows for Kacey at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas in May. Their family is orginally from Mexico and sought asylum in the U.S. in 2023. They had attended all scheduled court check-ins, but were detained by ICE in February. Their case drew a lot of attention because the brothers' mariachi band had won a state competition in Texas the year before. When the family was finally released, Kacey was one of many who celebrated. She also extended an invitation to open for her to the brothers. The shows have been scheduled for May 3rd, 4th and 5th.
