Jason Aldean made good on a promise to a fan with cancer during his show in Houston on Friday night (Aug. 15).
He brought out his special guest Devarje "DJ" Daniel, a 13-year-old Houston native who is battling brain and spinal cancer. In partnership with the Houston Astros and his tour sponsor Patriot Mobile, Jason presented a cheque for over $200,000 to Heroes for Children. DJ had been trying to connect with Jason since early this summer when he put out a video on TikTok. In that video, he said he was hoping to put together a country music show to raise money for pediatric cancer patients. DJ just asked if anyone knew Jason Aldean? It turns out that someone who knows Jason saw it and was able to put them in touch. Just days after, Jason posted a video on his social media which starts with Darius Rucker, who says, "Guess what, I heard ya. I know Jason Aldean." Darius then hands the phone over to Jason. "We'll get you out to a show. Let's talk more about doing a show or doing something to help the kids, like you were talking about," Jason promises DJ.
