Garth Brooks once surprised Luke Combs with a very generous gift even though they barely knew each other at the time.
Luke recently shared the story of how it went down. Garth bought him a Ford Bronco Raptor as a thank you, but Luke had no idea it was happening. Last Christmas he looked out his window and his manager was pulling up in the vehicle, which happened to be identical to the manager's. You can imagine Luke's confusion when his manager walked in and tossed the keys at him. When his manager told him that Garth had bought it for him, he was even more confused. It wasn't until he called Garth that he got the full story. When Garth received the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 Nashville Songwriters Awards Ceremony, Luke was one of several artists to perform Garth songs in a tribute to him. Garth was so impressed with Luke's rendition of "The Beaches of Cheyenne," he connected with Luke's manager and found out that the younger artist really liked cars. Unfortunately when he order the Raptor, the vehicle was on hold and couldn't be delivered right away. By the time it got to Luke's home, a year had passed and they hadn't talked to each other much in the meantime. He told Garth the gift wasn't necessary, but Garth insisted that he just wanted to show his appreciation for the time Luke took to perform in his honour.
