Will their dreams be thwarted as they navigate the cliques of East High? Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favourite High School Musical songs such as “Get’cha Head in the Game,” “Stick to the Status Quo,” and “We’re All in This Together.” With its inspiring message of friendship, self-discovery, and teamwork, you’ll be singing and cheering along with the talented High School Musical JR. Brendan McLeod and the JUNO nominated group, The Fugitives, perform RIDGE, an unforgettable tribute to the more than 10,000 Canadian casualties of Vimy Ridge. Through storytelling, theatre, and live music, the show examines misconceptions and varying perspectives around the battle, while drawing parallels to other formative events in our nation’s past. Featuring inventive musical interpretations of WWI soldier songs, RIDGE probes difficult yet necessary questions about how and why we grieve. RIDGE is a vivid, kinetic ride through history and a personal examination of our connection to the past that passionately argues against the exploitation of young lives. Children of all ages are invited to bring a stuffed animal to this special storytime at the Central Library of the Whitby Public Library—then they can leave their fluffy friend behind for a stuffie-only sleepover! Photos of their hijinks will be available when they pick up their animal friend.

Teddy Bear drop-off is available until 6:00 p.m. 

This drop-in, P.A. Day program at the Brooklin Branch of the Whitby Public Library will keep kids' brains busy and engaged with fun activities!
