Country singer Riley Green was injured during a recent concert after a fan threw a cellphone that struck him in the face while he was performing in Melbourne.

The incident happened mid-set when a concertgoer near the front of the stage tossed the phone, hitting Green along his jaw, neck, and ear. Fan-shot videos show the phone making direct contact before dropping to the stage floor.

Despite the hit, Green stayed composed. He removed his guitar, walked to the edge of the stage, and calmly pointed out the person responsible so security could escort them out of the venue. The crowd responded by booing the offender and cheering as the singer handled the situation without losing his cool.

Although Green was visibly bleeding, he chose to continue the show. After security cleared the incident, a member of his team came out to wipe blood from his neck prompting Green to realize for the first time that the phone had broken skin.

“Am I bleeding? Y’all see how tough I am?” he joked to the crowd, drawing laughs before getting right back into the performance. Throughout the rest of the night, he continued to poke fun at the moment while keeping the energy high.

During the show’s finale, a group cover of “Dixieland Delight”, opening act Jake Worthington joined Green onstage wearing a hard hat, adding a lighthearted nod to the earlier chaos.

After the concert, Green addressed the incident on Instagram, sharing photos of his injured ear and medics treating him backstage. He kept the humor going by captioning one post with the hashtag “#justtextmenexttime” and joking that he was “gettin’ my ear pierced.”

Despite the scare, Green’s quick recovery and good spirits made it clear that a flying phone wasn’t going to stop the show.
