Darius Rucker shares some of his most personal stories in his new memoir, Life's Too Short: A Memoir by Darius Rucker. Each chapter in the book, which was released on May 28th, is named after a song title. Some are from his solo career, others are from Hootie and The Blowfish, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, R.E.M., KISS, Prince and more. Even though Darius may not have written some of the songs, they have all had an impact on his life. Darius admits that his late mother Carolyn wouldn't have wanted him to share some the stories he does throughout the book, but he didn't let that stop him from being open and honest with his readers because even the lowest of moments are still part of his journey. "I always said that if I ever wrote the book, I was going to be as honest as I could be," says Darius. "There's some stuff that's over the top, but I just wanted to tell the story and I wanted people to understand the hard stuff and the good stuff. All this stuff made me who I am today and so when I was writing the book, I wanted you to read it like we were sitting at a bar and I was telling you my life story and so that's how we wrote it."
