Dan + Shay took to social media to clear up the rumour that they had split up.

In the video, the duo explains that they never meant to take an almost year-long break from social media...it just happened. Dan Smyers said that 2024 was a very busy year for them. "We did The Voice. We did two tours. We did two Christmas albums and then we went wild on social media for the Christmas blitz. And then Shay and Hannah had a baby at the top of this year," he explained. "And we've been in the studio literally all year, pretty much every day making our favourite music we've ever made." The duo shared that they are closer than they have ever been and are having a blast making new music together. They also revealed plans to release a new Christmas song and "a couple other little surprises that happen between now and the end of the year."
