Chris Stapleton has just made country music history with his song "Tennessee Whiskey."
It has just become the first country song to earn a Double Diamond certification from the RIAA, which means it moved more than 20 million units in the U.S. alone. Only two other songs have reached this mark: Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" and Post Malone and Swae Lee's "Sunflower."
The song was originally written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove, and had already been recorded. It was Stapleton's version of "Tennessee Whiskey" that turned it into such a massive hit. It was featured on his debut album Traveller, and Chris performed it live during an unforgettable performance at the CMA Awards alongside Justin Timberlake.
