Nature-Inspired Afternoons
In this after school program, children explore the vibrant world of birds and plants through art, science, exhibit visits, and outdoor play. Inspired by David Salazar's: Bird Botanicals exhibit, each week blends creativity with nature discovery.
Weekly Themes:
May 20: Feathered Friends - Bird mask-making, feather science, bird call games.
May 27: Botanical Prints - Leaf printing, nature walk, plant identification.
June 3: Nest Builders - Build nests with natural materials, egg experiments.
June 10: Pollinator Party - Butterfly crafts, pollination relay, garden scavenger hunt.
June 17: Birds & Botanicals Collage - Mixed media art, storytelling with bird characters.
June 24: Nature Journals - Drawing exhibit favourites, nature walk sketches.

09:00am - 11:00amThe Wellspring 2026 Holistic Fair takes place on April 18 at the Newcastle Community Hall. Free to all attendees. The Fair will feature over 20 local holistic practitioners, retailers, clinics and spas. Separate Speaker Sessions, Mala Bracelet Making classes, Herbal Tea Tastings, Apple Cider Sampling (non-alcoholic), Mini Wellness sessions at the practitioners' tables. Also featuring Pet Therapy.
