  • 27th Annual Walk for the Best

    The Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre annual “WALK for the BEST” walkathon is a vital fundraiser that brings our patient and family community together in support of our healthcare programs. Being the Best Centre’s 35th year, we are excited to celebrate with you and gather at Heydenshore Kiwanis Park in Whitby (589 Water Street, Whitby) on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024.  The Best Centre invites you, your friends, your family and neighbours to help us fundraise and enjoy a 2.5-5 km walk or run in support of meeting our pledged goals.

  • Market in the Barn at Hollowbrook Highlands

    Celebrate our 3rd Annual Fall Market in the Barn with us! Support local with over 50 unique handcrafted vendors, indulge in delicious food from our Food Truck Paddock, meet and feed Highland cows and goats and more! With winding trails, a picturesque property, and a beautiful cozy bonfire, it makes the perfect Fall day on the farm. Enjoy live music from Julia Middleton from 12-3, or add to the experience by booking a Micro Mini Photo Session with Inspired by Griffin Photography. We hope you can join us!

  • Scenes from the Cemetery

    On Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, take a tour through Oshawa’s Union Cemetery with the dramatic tour Scenes from the Cemetery. On this walking tour, actors will bring stories to life, portraying people from Oshawa’s past and celebrating these exceptional individuals.

    • Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024;
    • Show start times: 2pm; 2:20pm; 2:40pm; 3pm

    Tickets are $20 each (plus applicable fees) and can be bought online via simpletix.com - if you need help reserving your tickets, please contact Lisa at the Oshawa Museum (905-436-7624 x 105)

    As the number of tour spots for each group time is limited, we urge you to purchase your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Please be aware there are different dates/times for this event. Be careful when selecting your choice.

    It is recommended that participants park at the nearby Oshawa Civic Recreation Complex (99 Thornton Road South) as parking at Union Cemetery is very limited (5 minute walk)

  • Yoga in the Garden

    Yoga in the Garden is back! Get your Zen on in the beautiful Henry House Heritage Gardens this summer!

     

    Starting Friday, June 7, at 9 am, we’re on the mat and ready to flow. Classes are free drop-in 1 hour-long sessions, with donations accepted. All proceeds go to the Oshawa Museum. This series continues every Friday morning, rain or shine, through September (temperatures permitting.)

     

    All levels of yogis are welcome! Please bring any props that support your practice. Also, not all yogis enjoy pets and animals during their practice. If you bring a pet, they must always be on a short leash.

  • The Breezeway Second Stage

    Live, Outdoor Classic Country Music. Bring your own lawn chair. $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

    A portion of the proceeds are being donated to Sick Kids Hospital.
