  • Truth & Reconciliation Day

    The Oshawa Museum commemorates Truth and Reconciliation Day (Orange Shirt Day) on Sunday, September 29, from 12 to 4 pm. Robinson House will only be open on this day.

    • Visit A Carrying Place and learn more about the Indigenous history of this area.

    • Participate in the Moccasin Identifier Project by painting a moccasin stencil.

  • Broken Walls Concert - A Day for Truth and Reconciliation Event

    Come and commemorate The Day for Truth and Reconciliation with Broken Walls, a band born of a desire to bring cultures into harmony and to reach out and help at-risk indigenous youth, teaching them about suicide prevention and abuse prevention.  Broken Walls will make a stop at Hope Fellowship Church on Sept. 29 and there is no cost to attend this amazing concert.  Broken Walls base many of their songs on the ancient sounds of the First Nations People of North America and often perform around their large Pow Wow drums, singing songs of and to the Creator.

    You are invited to wear your orange shirt to the concert.

    Whitby FanCon 2024 Unveiled: A new chapter begins!

    New name, same amazing festival  

    Join us at the Central Library on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for an extraordinary event celebrating all things graphic novels, comic books, and talented artists.

    Whitby FanCon promises to be a vibrant and creative gathering, building on the success of WhitCAF 2023, which shattered attendance records with well over five hundred people in attendance. Guests can expect the same exciting experiences and immersive atmosphere that made WhitCAF a fan favourite.

    Fans can connect with fellow enthusiasts, celebrate their shared passions, and immerse themselves in the dynamic world of comics, graphic novels, and talented local artists.

  • Cemetery Tour - St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery
    Discover the history in one of Oshawa's oldest cemeteries. This NEW tour explores St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery and shares its history, along with stories of those who are laid to rest here.
     
    The tour is taking place on October 5 at 2pm. Admission is $5/person or FREE for Oshawa Historical Society Members.
     
    Parking at the cemetery and surrounding plazas is limited. Please ensure you are parking in designated locations.
     
    The tour is offered in partnership with Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services - Archdiocese of Toronto.
