  • Yoga in the Garden
Breath deep, take a moment, and do a sun salutationin the summer sun with the Oshawa Museum's Yoga in the Garden, Friday mornings at 9 AM.

Starting June 6 at 9 AM, we're on the mat and ready to flow. Classes are free, drop-in, 1-hour long sessions, with donations to the Oshawa Museum gratefully accepted. The series continues every Friday morning, rain or shine, through September.

All levels of yogis are welcome! Participants are required to bring their own mats, water, and any props that support their practice.

Washrooms are available in Lakeview Park for participants. Not all yogis enjoy pets and animals during their practice. If you bring a pet, they must always be on a short leash.

To see a complete list of instructors, visit the Oshawa Museum website or our Facebook page.

  • Free Public Stargazing

Join us, The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, for an evening of free public stargazing along the north shore of Lake Ontario at Millennium Square (south end of Liverpool Road in Pickering).

Observe the Moon, planets, and stars through our telescopes! Check out astronomy literature at our information booth, and ask us questions to learn more about the stars and planets.

You can bring your own telescope and we'd be happy to help you set it up and aim it at the Moon.

Everything gets underway at 7:00 pm with solar-filtered telescopes providing views of sunspots and prominences.

Please check our website (https://rascto.ca/) for a GO/NO-GO decision based on the weather before heading to the Square.

Please note that we make our GO/NO-GO calls a few hours before an event but, if the weather worsens, we may have to cancel or wrap up earlier than planned.

We'll try to post updates but please use your best judgment if you're planning to join us.
