Our Mural of the Week is “Full Steam Ahead” by Moose Jaw artist Gus Froese

"Full Steam Ahead" is a collage celebrating the history of Oshawa. Located in the back of the mural is Parkwood Estate and how it stands today.
The newspaper featured, Oshawa Daily Reformer, later became the Oshawa Times. On the far left (not shown) of the mural is a depiction of the Oshawa Harbour and Barnhart's Pavilion, the local dance hall, where people went to socialize and dance.
We are sure that as you wander around downtown Oshawa, you will find some tasty spots for coffee and lunch. Tell them you found them through the Mural Walk.

Oshawa Art Association's Oshawa Mural & Art Walk presents "Grace" by Mary Anne Barkhouse ~ Sculptor.
On April 7, we will celebrate International Beaver Day by sharing this bronze with you.
"Grace" features three beavers cast in bronze, sitting on a piece of Canadian Shield granite from a quarry in the Haliburton Highlands in front of the RMG. Mary Anne Barkhouse is a nationally acclaimed artist. She belongs to the Nimpkish band, Kwakiutl First Nation and currently resides in the Haliburton Highlands of Ontario.
We are sure that as you wander around downtown Oshawa, you will find some tasty spots for a coffee and lunch.

Join amateur astronomer Frank Dempsey, a member of Dokis First Nation in Ontario, to consider the reasons why Indigenous starlore is so interesting, and why the night sky and celestial movements are important in everyday life.
Frank Dempsey is a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and holds a Master's in astronomy.
