    Come join Cocos Cocoa for sick kids every Saturday and Sunday till December 21st at 31 Erickson drive in Whitby and help support the sick kids' foundation

  • The Baird Team Coat Drive 2024

    This marks their 8th instalment of the coat drive. Since 2017, they have collected over 1000 coats for the more vulnerable in our community. Once again, they are collecting winter coats and items of clothing to help those in need in our local community keep warm this winter. they will be collecting coats and warm clothing until Sunday December 8th. All coats will be professionally cleaned courtesy of Carriage Trade Cleaning Centre prior to distribution throughout Oshawa and Clarington.

    How You Can Help

    1. Donate Gently Used Coats: they're accepting new or gently used coats in all sizes – from children’s to adults. Warm jackets, coats, scarves, hats, and gloves are all welcome!
    2. Spread the Word: Share this post with friends, family, and coworkers. The more people who know about the drive, the more coats we can collect,.

    Drop-off Locations & Dates

    They've partnered with several local businesses and organizations to make it easy for you to drop off your donations:

    1. Carriage Trade Cleaners: 932 Simcoe Street N., Oshawa
    2. Oshawa YMCA: 99 Mary Street N., Oshawa

    Azra, a Pakistani woman living in Toronto, is worlds apart from her conservative Muslim mother. When a tragic incident occurs on a trip home to Pakistan, Azra finds herself on a Bollywood-inspired journey through memories, both real and imagined, from her mother’s youth in Karachi to her own coming-of-age in rural Canada. Concessions and cash bar available.

    The Rotary Club of Oshawa together with St. Matthew's Anglican Church are hosting a "GIANT BOOK SALE & MINI-BAZAAR"

    at 135 Wilson Road South, Oshawa (four blocks south of King Street)

    on Thursday & Friday December 5th & 6th  - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  and Saturday (BOOK SALE ONLY), December 7th - Noon to 4:00 p.m.

    11th Whitby Drive-Thru Parade Dec. 2024

    Please join us Friday, December 6th, 2024, at 6:30pm for the 4th annual light up drive-thru parade hosted by 11th Whitby Scouting.  We are teaming up with Westminster United Church to support their food bank (The Pantry).

    This is a drive-thru only, donations will be collected by a member of 11th Whitby Scouts (please see map for where the drop off donation "bin" will be).  Please follow the route so we can maintain safety for everyone https://bit.ly/3rsmI8e.

    Westminster United Church provides space for the 11th Whitby Cub Pack, 11th Whitby Group Committee meetings and 31st Whitby Ember unit to meet each week.  As well, Westminster has a Sunday morning J.a.M. program for Youth.  All Youth and their families are invited to this special event.

    You can start to arrive at 6:30pm to drive around the parking lot.  Please be patient if there are a lot of cars in front of you.  We will be there until 8:00pm.

    Here is a list of what is needed most.

    • Instant coffee, green tea, peanut butter, jam, kid's snacks (pudding cups, granola bars)
    • Chicken noodle soup, oil, rice, canned corned beef, salmon, tuna
    • Beefaroni, zoodles, pasta, pasta sauce, pork & beans, chick peas
    • Canned fruit and veggies, breakfast cereals (rice krispies, sugar crisp), oatmeal
    • 1 litre apple or orange juice, tetra juice boxes
    • Laundry soap, dish soap
    • Shower gel, shampoo, feminine products, paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex
