Get ready, Whitby! Our first Book Sale is coming to the Central Library (405 Dundas St. W) We’re accepting donations from May 11 to June 12, and every dollar raised will go right back into supporting the Library programs and services you love.

What kind of donations are you accepting?
We’re looking for fiction and non-fiction books, large print, kids and teens books, magazines, books in a variety of languages (World Languages), DVDs, and puzzles.

What are the guidelines?
Donated items should be clean, intact, and fully readable. We cannot accept items that are dirty or stained, missing pages or have a broken spine, or moldy. We are not accepting items such as textbooks or activity books.

Where do I take my donation?
You can drop off your donations at any information desk at our three locations. We are not accepting donations through our drop boxes.

How much will items cost?
Kids books: $1
Paperbacks: $2
Hardcovers: $3
Magazines $0.50
Audiobooks $2
Specialty items: $5–$10
Sets, such as series sets or bundled items, will be priced slightly higher.

Will there be giveaways at the sale?
Yes! We’ll have loads of freebies with a twist. The more you spend, the higher value the giveaway. If you spend $5, you earn a sticker. $15 gets you a cool keychain. Spend $25 and we’ll hand you a Library tote bag. $40 will get you a vintage Library print! (One item per customer. While supplies last.)

What can we expect on June 13?
The sale runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 1 on the main floor of the Central Library. The line-up will begin outside the north-east door that leads directly into the meeting room.
