Join us for the TIFF Ajax Film Circuit at the St. Francis Centre!

Here’s your chance to watch films from the Toronto international Film Festival (TIFF) without driving into the city, dealing with traffic jams and paying for parking - it’s all right here in Ajax! Film selections include Canadian and foreign made films, contemporary cinema and thought-provoking independent films.

Thelma
In recognition of International Day of Older Persons, the St. Francis Centre presents a free screening of Thelma, a film inspired by a real-life experience of director Josh Margolin’s own grandmother. Thelma puts a clever spin on the action movie genre, shining a spotlight on an elderly grandmother as an unlikely action hero. In the first leading film role of her 70-year career, June Squibb portrays the strong-willed Thelma, a 93-year-old who gets duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson and sets out on a treacherous quest across the city to reclaim what was taken from her.

Concessions and cash bar available.

This film presentation is FREE to attend, however, registration is required either online at www.ajax.ca/sfc, by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by calling 905-619-2529, ext. 2787 (ARTS).
