Little Shop of HorrorsA darkly comedic rock musical with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman. The story follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek flower shop assistant on Skid Row, who discovers a mysterious and rapidly growing plant he names Audrey II. As the plant brings fame and fortune to the struggling shop, Seymour soon learns that his plant has a sinister appetite for human blood. The musical cleverly blends 1960s-style rock and doo-wop with themes of ambition, love, and the consequences of making Faustian bargains, all wrapped in a campy, horror-comedy package.
Please be advised that Little Shop of Horrors is a dark comedy and contains thematic elements, including cartoonish violence, domestic abuse, references to death and murder, and the use of and abuse of recreational drugs. Parental discretion is advised; the show may not be suitable for young children.
