  • Map the Museum! Family Day at the Oshawa Museum
    Celebrate Family Day at the Oshawa Museum on Sunday, February 16, from 12–4 PM! Join us for a fun-filled afternoon as you explore the museum and uncover the history behind our artefacts. Take a guided tour through Henry House and Robinson House, mapping the locations of fascinating exhibits, including our latest display, Untold Oshawa. Visit Guy House for hands-on historic mapping activities and enjoy a stop by the gift shop.
     
    If you're a fan of old maps, don’t miss the chance to see some of the oldest maps of the area, Oshawa’s historic insurance maps, and the impressive Tackabury map displayed in Henry House.
     
    The event is drop-in, and admission is $5 per person (free for Oshawa Historical Society members). The final tour departs at 3 PM, so be sure to arrive early!

  • Free Family Fun Day Port Perry

    The Port Perry Agricultural Society is hosting a Free Family Fun Fest event and they have lots of fun activities to share with the Durham Community.

     

    Also special visit from MP Jamil Jivani and Ontario PC Candidate Todd McCarthy who will join them for a Horse Wagon Ride, Hot Chocolate by the Campfire and perhaps a slide down the newly crafted Toboggan Run at approx 14:00!

     

    They also have live music by MT Walker and special drone coverage by City TV.

  • TIFF Ajax Film Circuit presents "Sing Sing"

    Welcome to the Ajax Film Circuit! Join us for our screening of Sing Sing at the St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts and Culture.

    Divine G (Coleman Domingo) imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men.  Sing Sing is a stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art, starring an unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors.   • The Whitby Historical Society Presents Red Dress Beaded Pin Workshop Facilitated by Janet Dugan

    Join Janet Dugan, the founder of the Red Dress Pin Project and a proud member of Munsee Delaware FN (Leni Lenape) Wolf Clan, for this unique opportunity to explore the healing craft of beading. You will have the choice of design, the colour of the beads and backing and learn the embroidery skills needed to create a pin of your own.

    This is a 2 part workshop. Part 2 will be held on March 1. 

    $20 fee includes all supplies.
