It's back! Come celebrate the autumn season at Applefest in Historic Downtown Bowmanville, THIS Saturday, October 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.!
Join us in Historic Downtown Bowmanville and celebrate all things apple with us! Watch a full FOUR city blocks turn into a showcase for several local apple growers who have hand-picked a wide variety of the best fresh apples, and other goodies, just for you!
Be sure to make a stop for our famous fresh hot apple fritters! Don't be discouraged by the line-up, because they're well worth the wait!
Park for free at Clarington Central Secondary School (200 Clarington Blvd, Bowmanville) and a shuttle bus will drop you off at the festival and return you when you're done.

NOTE: If you have come other years, you know we also had a Wagon Ride for you! But this year the corn is right near the parking lot, so no need for the Wagon this time. Sorry - we like that part too! But lots of action as soon as you arrive by the big green barn!
NEW this year - we'll have something you can take home with you that lets you proudly share your Fright Night survival! A cool, inexpensive, warm "something". Stay tuned!
Parents - you know best what your kids enjoy for a good scare. We have seen kids age 5 and less who are fascinated and love the experience, and we have seen teens who can't make it past the clowns (oh yes, there will be creepy clowns folks!) We leave it to you to decide if its the right fit for your kids. We do also provide a "magic" word just before you enter; something you can shout out to scare the monsters back...a little bit.

You buy 1 ticket per person, for a booked time.
Discounted prices are shown for buying 4 or more tickets!
Like every year, we absorb the service fees!
Compare us to other events - we are 35% to 80% less expensive than any other spooky event out there, but with the a huge and uniquely interactive experience!
You will be sent in as a group
If you have more than 6 in your party, we will split you into multiple groups at the trail entrance
If you are less than 6 in your party, we will send smaller groups in as one larger group
Tickets are sold online only for booked times.
It is CRITICAL you arrive 20 minutes before your time.
Example, if your ticket is for 7:00 - 7:10pm, you must arrive by 6:40pm.
This is because we cannot just "slip you in" if you are late. It would push everyone else out of their time slot and that is not fair to them. There are no refunds if you are late.
Your ticket will come to you as an E-mail, and you need to bring that on your cell phone (or printed) so that we can scan them when you arrive.
Please make sure you have a ticket for EACH person in your group. Your ticket can only be used once.
No ticket, no entry.
-=> IMPORTANT SAFETY ITEMS:
The trail is NOT considered accessibility-themed. This is a corn field, with uneven ground, corn stalks and cobs on the ground. While a wheelchair can fit through the width of the trail, wet weather and other conditions would make it difficult for persons needing any kind of mobility assistance to navigate. You may wish to come, but understand it can be difficult to to traverse!
By booking times, we are keeping the number of people in line at a minimum, reducing your wait time to enter
For your safety - there is no touching the monsters, pushing, crawling or running inside the maze
Loud sounds, strobe lights, fog and other special effects in use
Port-o-Potties are available on site
ABOUT US:The Firehouse Youth Centre is one of three youth drop-in spaces of the Clarington Youth Centres program, run by the John Howard Society of Durham Region. It provides a great space for youth age 12-19 to enjoy together, with support from our staff through various events and activities during the year. As a registered charity with over 60 years of service to the people of Durham, JHS provides many free services such as employment, housing help, counselling programs, and more to individuals and families, youth and adults. Karaoke Night Supporting Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre
On Saturday, October 17, bring your karaoke skills to the Whitby Legion in support of an awesome cause! Kicking off at 7pm, sing a tune for a toonie! There will also be a 50/50 draw and a photobooth to capture the memories. Admission is $15 and all proceeds are donated to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre in Oshawa.

Paranormal Night at the Oshawa MuseumStep into the shadows of Oshawa's most historic homes for an unforgettable night of mystery, history, and paranormal intrigue. Beginning at the eerie and elegant Guy House, your journey will take you through three legendary museum buildings — each with a story to tell... and perhaps something more. This event is in partnership with the Paranormal Seekers. Their team has many years of combined experience in paranormal investigation.
What to Expect:
Small Group Rotations — Three intimate groups of 12 will rotate between houses starting at 7 PM.
Guy House – Meet the Oshawa Museum and Paranormal Seekers team, hear chilling personal ghost stories (or skeptical takes!), and get a behind-the-scenes tech overview.
Henry House – Dive into historic hauntings and review past paranormal findings from private investigations.
Robinson House – Uncover the house's layered history and explore your own paranormal focus for the night.
Tour Start Times: 7:00 PM | 8:00 PM | 9:00 PM
You will be asked to select a start time through the booking process.
Each stop lasts 45 minutes—just enough time to spark your curiosity... or chill your spine.
Whether you're a seasoned ghost hunter or a curious skeptic, this night promises thrilling encounters, fascinating stories, and a deeper look into the spirit world—all within the walls of Oshawa’s most storied homes.
