  • Turning the Wheel ~ Mural of the Week

    Turning the Wheel celebrates the Peony Festival with a big and beautiful peony in the vertical mural on the side of the McMillan Parkade, Oshawa. It is just south of the Peony Festival. this is one of Oshawa's Heritage District murals celebrating local history.

  • Yoga in the Garden
    Breath deep, take a moment, and do a sun salutationin the summer sun with the Oshawa Museum's Yoga in the Garden, Friday mornings at 9 AM.
     
    Starting June 6 at 9 AM, we're on the mat and ready to flow. Classes are free, drop-in, 1-hour long sessions, with donations to the Oshawa Museum gratefully accepted. The series continues every Friday morning, rain or shine, through September.
     
    All levels of yogis are welcome! Participants are required to bring their own mats, water, and any props that support their practice.
     
    Washrooms are available in Lakeview Park for participants. Not all yogis enjoy pets and animals during their practice. If you bring a pet, they must always be on a short leash.

  • "Collaborative Couple" by Annette Blady Van Mil & Al Van Mil

    Scugog Arts presents "Collaborative Couple" by Annette Blady Van Mil and Al Van Mil, showcasing collaborative and individual works that blend painting and sculpture. Opening May 31 with a reception from 1-3 PM, the show runs until July 1 and explores artistic partnership, reinvention, and creative resilience through richly textured and conceptually vibrant pieces.

  • TIFF Ajax Film Circuit presents "Solo"

    Welcome to the Ajax Film Circuit! Join us for our screening of Solo at the St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts and Culture.

    Set in Montreal’s vivacious drag scene, we meet Simon (Théodore Pellerin), a rising drag star who vibrates with the passion of his adopted artistic community. This tender character study from writer-director Sophie Dupuis (Underground) focuses on a talented young performer whose past and present merge in unexpected ways. Beautifully charting the highs and lows of falling in love and finding oneself in one’s art, Solo is a passionate feat of storytelling and visual extravagance, celebrating the drag world in all its splendor and heartache. Concessions and cash bar available.
