  • Grace ~ Oshawa Mural & Art Walk

    Oshawa Art Association's Oshawa Mural & Art Walk presents "Grace" by Mary Anne Barkhouse ~ Sculptor.

    On April 7, we will celebrate International Beaver Day by sharing this bronze with you.

    "Grace" features three beavers cast in bronze, sitting on a piece of Canadian Shield granite from a quarry in the Haliburton Highlands in front of the RMG. Mary Anne Barkhouse is a nationally acclaimed artist. She belongs to the Nimpkish band, Kwakiutl First Nation and currently resides in the Haliburton Highlands of Ontario.

    We are sure that as you wander around downtown Oshawa, you will find some tasty spots for a coffee and lunch.

    The RMG is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 4 pm (free parking on the weekends).

    To start your walk at the RMG from the Durham College Oshawa GO Station, take bus 56 to Simcoe S & Athol E (return Centre S & Athol W to Durham College Oshawa GO Station.

  • Farm Connections Open House

    Durham Farm Connections Open House 2025

    Join the Durham Farm Connections Open House on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, starting at 3:30 pm until 8:00 pm inside at the Luther Vipond Memorial Arena found at 67 Winchester Road East in Brooklin, Ontario. 

    This interactive event provides attendees with a chance to experience agriculture in Durham Region through interactive stations, live farm animals, a chance to touch a tractor and an opportunity to meet Durham Region farmers.  See cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, learn how veggies grow, what crops are grown in the region and learn about making apple cider. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore where your food comes from and speak to Durham Region’s farmers.  From kids to grandparents, this event is perfect for the entire family.

    Demonstrations will take place throughout the event including cow milking, sheep shearing, wool spinning, and meet a large animal veterinarian. Don’t miss a chance take part in a free draw for a local food basket. Admission is free, food bank donations are appreciated.

    Durham Farm Connections Open House is a free event offered by the farmers of Durham Region. There is construction on Winchester Road http://www.durham.ca/WinchesterRoad for updates on current traffic conditions.
