Jordan Davis has just earned his fifth number one song with "What My World Spins Around." The single is sitting at number one on both the Billboard and Mediabase Country Airplay charts. Jordan co-wrote the song with Ryan Hurd and Matt Dragstream. While writing the track, they reflected on their life experiences and about how the things that are important to them changed over time. The number one single is on Jordan's next album, Bluebird Days, which will be released on February 17th.
Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn, were supposed to meet a year earlier than they actually did. "I was supposed to be in her music video the first time we were going to meet, but I had my first show that day," Kane shares. "So, I didn't meet her for a year later." Katelyn says that music has always played a big role in her life. "I've been singing since I was little," she reveals. "Music has always been a huge part of my life. That's actually how me and Kane even met each other, was just through mutual people we were both working with in the music business." Even though the couple is enjoying success with their duet "Thank God," there are no plans for them to make a duets album at this time. Kane and Katelyn will have more time to work together when they finish building their home studio.
Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Musgraves will be heading up a new singing competition called, "My Kind of Country," which is set to premiere March 24th on Apple TV+. "My Kind of Country" is described as a "fresh take on a competition series, breaking down barriers in country music by providing an extraordinary opportunity to diverse and innovative artists from around the world. Scouts Jimmie Allen, Mickey Guyton and Orville Peck each hand-pick a roster of exceptional up-and-coming artists and invite them to the home of country music in Nashville, Tennessee, to showcase their unique sound." Kacey shared her excitement about the new show on social media, and revealed that the idea came from a conversation between her and Reese. "Excited to be part of an innovative, new Apple TV+ show alongside Reese Witherspoon that is based on a conversation we had years ago about wanting to search the globe to find Country stars of all races, gender, sexual orientations & points of views," she wrote. The lucky winner will walk away with a "life-changing prize" from Apple Music.
Ernest has a number of new songs that he'll be releasing on a deluxe album. He is adding 13 new original songs to his debut album, Flower Shops, making it a deluxe album called Two Dozen Roses. "I can't wait for everyone to hear the new music," Ernest said in a press release. "It's even more of the real, honest storytelling that the album was built on, and continues the character's love story right where it left off with 'Some Other Bar'. It's very reflective, I think everyone will be able to relate to a part of the story in some way. I'm really proud of it!" The new album will be released on February 10th.
Dierks Bentley announced plans for his next album yesterday. Gravel & Gold will arrive on February 24th. Dierks says it's taken him so long to reveal his latest project because he scrapped his work and started over - not once, but twice. In a video posted to social media he explained why. "It's been a long road. A 20-year journey filled with highs and lows, twists and turns," he says. "My love for country music. That's what's kept me going, town to town, show to show, small clubs to packed arenas. I worked hard. I took chances, went for things. The journey isn't where I've been, it's what I carry with me into my 10th album. I wrote, I recorded, it wasn't good enough. I threw it out and started over, twice. I had to get it right. For the fans, and for me, it had to be the best country music I've ever made." The album trailer video shows many of the people who helped Dierks bring his vision to life, including collaborators like Vince Gill and Charlie Worsham.
