Blake Shelton's career took off when he released his debut single 'Austin', but he almost didn't record the song. During a recent interview, Blake said he thought the song was "super cheesy." "Luckily back then I had Bobby Braddock and Debbie Zavitson in my ear going, 'Listen man, you need to just live with this song, work on it' and I was just so stupid. I did and thank god they stayed on me about that, because otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you 20 years later, probably." Blake has gone on to score 28 number one hits to date.
Even though they are close friends now, Carly Pearce was not a fan of Kelsea Ballerini the first time they met. "I literally looked at her and was like, 'This girl is like five years younger than me. She's so happy and not jaded and, like, innocent.'" Carly decided during that meeting to be honest about her feelings, instead of keeping them bottled up. "Kelsea and I became friends in that meeting. We aligned because I was honest," says Carly. She went on to say that Kelsea took her on tour when she didn't have a record deal, and she let her ride in the bus with her so Carly could get some sleep.
