Jamey Johnson was arrested in Williamson County, Tennessee on Sunday. The District Attorney's office also confirmed his arrest, however they didn't revel any details about the charges. The Mobile Patrol app says that he was charged with speeding and possession of drugs. Jamey's bond was set at $5,000. His arrest comes just days after the release of his Midnight Gasoline album, which is his first full-length album in 14 years.
Lady A's Hillary Scott and her 11-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye, have just released a new holiday single called "Hard To Wait For Christmas." Eisele Kaye not only sings on the song she also co-wrote it with her parents, Chris Tyrell and Hillary Scott. The inspiration for the track came from a family discussion about advent calendars and the way anticipation for Christmas is felt at any age.
Morgan Wallen's "Lies, Lies, Lies" is the number one song on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. That is his fifth number one on that chart in 2024, which is more songs than any artist has ever had in one year in Hot Country Songs chart history. In 2023, Morgan had four number one songs over the course of the year, which put him in a three-way tie with Garth Brooks and Luke Combs. Now that record is broken.
Taylor Kerr and her husband Josh welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on October 29th. They have named him Chapel Shields Kerr. He was born in Nashville and weighed 3lbs, 4.9 oz. Chapel is currently in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and in a statement, Taylor said that they are looking forward to bringing him home soon. The couple are also parents to two-and-a-half year old daughter, Leighton.
A new round of acts was announced earlier this morning for the 2024 CMA Awards, which will air live November 20th on ABC. Jelly Roll and Brooks & Dunn will team up for the re-boot of their hit song "Believe." Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan will take to the stage with their single "Cowboys Cry Too." Ella Langley and Riley Green are set to sing their fan-favourite, "You Look Like You Love Me." Luke Combs will perform "Ain't No Love In Oklahoma," while Megan Moroney will sing her latest single "Am I Okay?" Fans will get to hear Bailey Zimmerman's "New to Country" and Kacey Musgraves' "The Architect." Eric Church and Cody Johnson have also been announced as performers, but they're keeping things a surprise for now.
Kane and Katelyn Brown have announced a new duet. The new single, "Body Talk," will be released on November 22nd. Fans already got to hear a bit of the song when Katelyn used it in a video she posted on Instagram. Their first collaboration, "Thank God," was released in 2022. It was the first hit song to come from a married couple since Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's "Its Your Love" in 1997. In October, Kane said that he and Katelyn were planning to release two more duets.
Hardy and his wife Caleigh are expecting their first child, and yesterday they shared that the baby is a little girl. Their gender reveal was sweet and simple. The couple chose to share their news with a number of pictures that showed them painting the nursery walls pink. "Getting ready for her," the caption on the post reads. Caleigh also shared a picture of her husband, smiling with a paint roller in his hand. "My new favourite picture in the whole world!!" she wrote. "He is going to be the best girl dad." Baby Hardy is due in February 2025.
George Strait will be honoured next week with the CMA's Lifetime Achievement Award during the CMA Awards on November 20th. He plans to be in attendance to watch an all-star group of artists perform a tribute to his music. The CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award is not given out every year. The first person to receive it was Willie Nelson in 2012. Other recipients include Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn and Alan Jackson.
