It's official, every one of Luke Combs' songs have gone to number one. His latest, "Beer Never Broke My Heart", tops the Billboard and Mediabase charts. That makes six number ones for Luke. He will also have a song, "Let's Just Be Friends", on the soundtrack to Angry Birds Movie 2, which hits theatres on August 14.
Garth Brooks' Teammates for Kids Foundation has teamed up with Major League Baseball for a new intiative called Home Plate Project. It includes an overall $900,000 commitment, including $300,000 from players to help MLB team charities support local groups dedicated to fighting childhood hunger. It is expected to help around 25,000 children providing more than 3.6 milliion meals. Since Garth co-founded Teammates for Kids with Bo Mitchell in 1999, more than 4700 professional athletes from baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, rodeo and racing have helped raise more than $100 million to help children in over 60 countries.
Dierks Bentley's heart got the better of him when he appeared on the Today show yesterday. When he joined the hosts for an interview, he was given a Border Collie mix pup named Goose to hold during the "Dogust" segment, which is meant to encourage people to adopt shelter dogs. This is held in August because that is the default month for shelter dogs whose birthdate is unknown. It was love at first sight for Dierks who adopted the puppy on the spot. "I feel a connection, I feel like it's meant to be," said Dierks.
Kane Brown and Katelyn are making sure to focus on themselves as a couple before their baby girl arrives. They are making time for date nights and trying to spend as much time together as possible. Kane is on the road this summer with Jason Aldean, so they have experiencing fun activities all over North America. Kane is also working on new music and says that they are going to try to get it out as quick as possible.
Chris Janson announced that he will release his third album, Real Friends, on October 18th. The lead off single, "Good Vibes", sets the tone for the album. "Real Friends is my favourite album I've made so far, hands down," says Chris. "I made Real Friends with actual real friends. I produced the album with real friends, wrote all the songs with real friends, took all the photos for the project with my best friend and wife, Kelly, and I also have a huge collaboration on this album with one of my favourite 'Ole' friends! I'm more excited about music now than I have been in all of my career. Thank you to my fans, who truly are my real friends and helped me get where I am today."
Jake Owen has been living by a certain mantra for a long time, he even named a tour after it. In a chat with Hoda Kotb, Jake said that the words he lives by are, "Life is what you make it". He believes that people have choices and by making the right choice, you create your own positive destiny.
Scotty McCreery has some advice for any couples that are planning a wedding. He says the most important thing is to enjoy the day. "Don't get too caught up in if the napkins are the perfect colour or everything," he advises. "You're gonna get married regardlesss. That's the main thing for the day." Scotty also added that communication is key in a marriage and it is something that he works on all the time. He also says that it is important to make time for each other. Scotty and his wife, Gabi, celebrated their 1st anniversary on June 16th. They have known each other since kindergarten and started dating when they were high school seniors, which was around the same time that Scotty won Season 10 of American Idol.
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman's daughters, 11-year-old Sunday and 8-year-old Faith, are providing the voices for hatchlings Lily and Beatrice in the upcoming Angry Birds Move 2. Genesis Tennon, who is Viola Davis' daughter and Gal Gadot's daughter, Alma Varsano, also provide voices for the animated movie. The film is due out August 14.
